Client: ImageQuest (stock photography agency)

Photographed while driving through Iowa corn fields, shooting stock photography of corn.

I've always been fascinated by how colorful climbing ropes and carabiners are.  My friend Lewis was compulsive about collecting those items.  If he didn't have a particular color or model, he'd buy it.  I always thought this would make a terrific poster.  Shot with an 8 x 10 Camera in my studio.

My fave pair of cut-offs, drying on my back porch.  I always thought it was a terrific billboard for Levis!  I'm very proud of the fact that this image won a competition and was selected to hang in the St. Louis Art Museum.

My fave chimp model, Kirby.  We made eye contact and had "a moment" together.    It was eerie . . . but very special!

Photographics Studio's assistant, stylist and talented support person, Ellen.  Taking a break after finishing  painting a 30' x 60' custom background.  The background was created for a photograph of the US Olympic team for Anheuser-Busch.  Photographed with an 8 x 10 camera at Photographics' studio, in St. Louis

As a photographer for the St. Louis Blues and the Arena, I spent many, many hours in the building, even when there was no event going on.  This was an early afternoon before a Blues' game, that evening.  I was struck by the quiet symmetry!

Client: Waylon Company for Anheuser-Busch's Bud Light

Promotional Poster featuring the U.S. Summer Olympic Track & Field Team.  This was a personal photograph of the athletes, the photography crew and the Clients.  Photographed in Orlando, Florida

One day, I noticed all this glassware in the studio, being assembled for an upcoming Client shoot.  I started playing with the glassware, some custom 'splash' props and the lighting.  I ended up shooting this. 4 x 5, for a self-promotion poster and mailing.

Graham Nash, photographed at the International Photography Hall of Fame in St. Louis, during his Induction in 2016

I ran into this woman in a camera store.  She had the longest hair I'd ever seen!  I asked if she'd be willing to come to my studio for a photograph . . . she said yes.  I've always loved this image!

Client: Graduate's Parents

This was the 'alternative" (more realistic) portrait of this graduate!  This was my first "studio portrait", where I used an extra room in my apartment and some kind of artificial light source . . . I can't imagine what it could have been.  I didn't own any sorts of 'real' lighting equipment!  I still love the image!

Client: The Bishop Family

I love shooting large groups!  Since this is one of the largest groups I've ever shot, I decided to include it.  It documents the largest reunion of the Bishop family ever, in celebration of my nephew's graduation from medical school.  There are four generations represented!
